Nemours, already a national leader among children’s hospitals in the development and use of electronic medical records used by clinicians and patient families, has again taken the lead on integrating family-friendly health information into its electronic health record (EHR). This initiative exemplifies Nemours’ promise to be a leader in improving children’s health through our integrated health system.

As part of an ongoing joint initiative by Nemours Health Informatics (NHI) and the Nemours Center for Children’s Health Media (NCCHM), KidsHealth information for parents, kids, and teens, in English and Spanish, is now accessible within Epic Hyperspace and MyNemours.

How to Access KidsHealth Information From Hyperspace

Nemours is the only Epic hospital to fully integrate content within the patient encounter pathway, allowing Nemours clinicians to print appropriate KidsHealth information from several areas within a typical Office Visit: Chief Complaint, Order Entry’s Diagnosis and Problem List Activity, and with a Medications order.

KidsHealth information automatically links to the following areas within My Medical Record: Health Issues, Test Results, and Medications. Now families can get more information when and where they need it ― transforming the medical record into a learning tool.
